Onguard Policy Manager 2.0

Every new customer you acquire exposes your organisation to risk. Are they able to pay the invoice on time? Will they stick to your payment conditions? It is important to know your customer to ensure they are creditworthy.

Through Onguard's partnership with Aon, they offer PolicyManager, an application specifically tailored towards handling the administration and changes that come with managing credit insurance policies. The major advantage of integrating with risk management solutions is that credit managers are proactively informed about the development of the risks of default and are able to better manage these risks.

PolicyManager further completes this by automatically signaling shortages in limits and providing the corresponding insurance and real-time alerts about, among other things, new applications or increases. PolicyManager saves a lot of time by automating manual tasks and lessening your administrative burden.

The Challenge

An unscalable legacy system with an immense data background needs to be made future proof. The new system has to improve usability, implementation time and allow for flexibility.

Our Solution

A quick to interface layer for the database where the app can easily be used by the multi-tenancy customer base. Insights are presented in a more user friendly manner and improved based on customer feedback and needs from across the world. The Outsystems platform allowed for easy implementation of the interface, while creating a stable multi-tenant platform.

The Results

The first version of Policy Manager, with all the most important business needs, was completed after 4 months, greatly improving on the implementation time with customers and simplifying the interface to lessen training time and stimulate adoption when switching from the legacy system.


The reasons for building the new Policy Manager are twofold, namely to meet future European, and ultimately global, demands and improve maintainability and flexibility by moving away from the legacy software in which the current Policy Manager is built. The new risk assessment tool is developed in partnership with Onguard, Aon and Valuga. The new Policy Manager 2.0 is a web-based, multi tenant solution with extreme flexibility and a modern look and feel.
